The principal of NEBX, Mike Maak, is an experienced Business Intermediary who has owned and operated several small and middle market businesses, holds CBI (Certified Business Intermediary), CPA and MBA credentials, and has an extensive background in business brokering, mergers and acquisitions, and the structure and finance of complex business transactions. Mike is a powerful dealmaker who brings a sense of fairness and equality to the transaction.

Mike earned a Bachelors of Accounting degree from Western New England College and an MBA degree from American International College. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Business Intermediary. His early working career included the public accounting firms of Touché Ross and Coopers and Lybrand, as well as several senior financial positions at a $60 million high-tech computer company in south Florida.

Mike quickly left the corporate world for more challenging entrepreneurial opportunities, buying into a training and technologies partnership. Mike transitioned this company from a small, marginally profitable operation to a very profitable and well-positioned middle market player. Along his successful 30-year career, Mike has owned and operated several multi-million-dollar training, high technology, and distribution companies.

For the past ten years, Mike has utilized his financial and entrepreneurial skills to successfully position and sell small and middle market businesses through his privately held company, North East Business eXchange. Mike is actively involved in the predominant professional organizations representing the mergers and acquisitions industry, including the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA), Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and the New England Business Brokers Association (NEBBA).
